The unique location of Shangri-La Barr Al Jissah Resort & Spa at the foot of a mountain range provides the resort a stunning backdrop facing the waters of Gulf of Oman. The resort is easily reachable through a tunnel under the mountain that opens up to a man-made haven.

Al Waha Hotel, meaning “The Oasis” is Oman’s first dedicated family hotel and the largest of the three hotels at the Shangri-La Barr Al Jissah Resort. All of the 262 guest rooms at Al Waha Hotel comes with either a balcony or patio measuring 5 square metres that face the sea.

The architecture of Al Waha is that of traditional Dhofari, a southern region of Oman. The hotel takes its inspiration from desert oases, where its several outdoor swimming pools connect and surrounded by date palm trees and beautifully landscaped gardens giving the impression of an oasis.

At Al Waha Hotel, guests are invited to embark on exciting culinary journeys at Samba, offering international cuisine or at the family-friendly Surf Cafe where children’s meals are served.

Al Tanoor

Al Tanoor restaurant serves distinctive cuisines of the Arabian Gulf region in a traditional Omani setting. The interior is reminiscent of the Bedouin style featuring tents, pottery and vibrant colours that complement the dishes prepared at the live cooking stations. Also on the menu are Mediterranean, Persian, Indian and Turkish classics along with a la carte choices.

Asia

Guests are invited to explore the culinary flavours of Eastern and Southwestern Asia in a contemporary setting. Four glass-encased live cooking stations add drama to your experience as chefs prepare cuisine from China, Japan, Thailand, Malaysia and Vietnam in many different ways.

Bait Al Bahr

Freshly caught bounties of the Gulf of Oman are served at Bait Al Bahr, a seafood restaurant that overlooks the beach. The seafood is cooked in the distinctive Omani style, allowing you to explore the rich culinary heritage and culture of Oman through your palate.

Capri Court

Capri Court offers contemporary Italian cuisine within a stylish setting, in-or-outdoors with garden and beach views. The menu comprises of ever-changing items that use the freshest ingredients to produce the most flavoursome dishes.

Fairouz

The name of the restaurant takes its name from the famous Lebanese singer, Fairouz, whoses songs have inspired generations. On the menu are a mix of hot and cold mezzeh, grills and authentic pastries that are enjoyed from within an elegant setting.

Samba

Samba is a lively contemporary restaurant showcasing the exotic flavours of Asia, Latin America and Mediterranean. The dishes are prepared in the showy open kitchens, adding theatrics to the venue – perfect for families.

Shahrazad

Shahrazad invites you to explore the tastes of Morocoo, through subtle spices and exotic flavours found in its dishes. The deep and vivid interior colours reflect the rich and mystical land of Morocco, complemented by the lively Moroccan music makes this venue an exciting culinary adventure.

Sultanah

Sultanah offers exquisite a la carte dining experiences within an inspired setting of a luxury cruise liner. The guests are treated to stunning views of the Gulf of Oman. What makes the menu at this restaurant special is that it changes according to the “port of call” of the liner’s nautical journey for the night.

Surf Cafe

The Surf Cafe is a causal yet trendy dining venue with internet booths. The menu comprises of healthy snacks and favourites such as burgers and sandwiches. A children’s menu is offered for visiting families.

Tapas & Sablah

Tapas & Sablah is located on the open plaza in the middle of the resort, serving Mediterranean, Asian and Middle Eastern tapas complemented by a large selection of beverages and flavoured shisha.

Zafran Cafe

Popular with visitors as a causal dining or meeting point, Zafran Cafe is nearby the shopping arcade and conveniently close to the children’s facilities. The cafe serves light fare, speciality coffees and teas, pastries and cold drinks. The courtyard offers shisha, which is a great way of catching up with family or friends.

Popular with children and adults alike, the Lazy River is a slow-moving water attraction that meanders between the Al Waha and Al Bandar hotels. Guests float serenely on inflatable tubes in an infinite cycle. The Lazy River is inspired by the ancient falaj system that brought fresh water to remote Omani villages.

A favourite family attraction, Mini Golf is a beautifully landscaped miniture golf course with nine fun and yet challenging holes. The course is located in the Omani Heritage Village.
